The next wave..... seeing who is calling you via Skype on your TV. From Oregan Networks and being demoed in their set top boxes, this is the real beginning of the end for paid for phone calls. People like Alcatel have been talking about creating the grand slam bundle of telephony. It is just getting here a little bit faster...

The new feature enables a scenario, where consumers can be notified of Skype messages and calls whilst watching digital broadcast or IP television, with options to dismiss or respond without leaving the sofa.

The company views the Skype service as one of the most compelling features available for Internet users today. Delivery of Skype applications on TV is in line with Oregan's mission to enable the non-PC market to tap into the advanced interactivity, "any-time, any-place" connectivity and fresh dynamic content - through Internet technologies.

According to Wikipedia a perceptron is a type of artificial neural network.

Ergo a “Perceptric” is a person who creates or uses a neural network.

The Perceptric Blog is where Chris Gilbey, together with others who provide consulting services via Perceptric Pty Limited, post thoughts, ideas, and links intended to stimulate thought and accelerate the transfer of ideas.

Perceptric Thinkers are available for consulting work with the premise that it is not technologies that are disruptive so much as the people that use them.
