Connectivity matters. Three numbers catch the eye in Europe. 88% of Swedes have access to 3G telephone services. In 2008, only 3% of European mobile phone users will not have 3G. By 2010 every European will have wireless broadband. All big deals.
3G brings video and TV to telephone. (And devices) Wireless broadband brings the same to internet devices. The more you untether consumers and workers to communicate and receive information, the more you establish a new frontier of work and entertainment.
Just as silent movies gave way to color, or radio moved aside for TV, established ideas are being changed right now. And its Europe and Asia that are pioneering the way with fast G mobile telephones and vast area wireless internet. We wont know what forms of entertainment will emerge, what truely mobile work looks like, or how patterns of behavior will change until they do. But the revelations aren't far off now.
