Tagworld must have lots of money to burn. A self-proclaimed MySpace killer, Tagworld has been set up by various veterans of other internet startups to compete in the same general market as MySpace. MySpace has 60 million users, Tagworld, a million.
On La Cieniga here in LA, Tagworld have plastered a billboard with an ad. It may be a carefully calibrated part of their marketing strategy but the last time online companies started using billboards it was disaster time. Tagworlds 7.5 million dollars from Draper Jurvetson in March followed fellow social space Tagged's 7 million from VC's in February. Can 25 grand a month for a PR company be far away?
