The pace of sales in cell phones is increasing. 245 million phones were sold globally in Q4 2005. A total of 825.5 mln mobile phones were sold globally in 2005. That's a 16.7% growth. (707.3 million in 04) Converged mobile devices were 55.6 mln units for 05, an increase of 165.3% over 2004.

The phone, or a mobile device, is now a key building block for connectivity, intelligent interchange, commerce, entertainment, data and much, much, more. Everyone's got one or will get one. Yet, until recently it has been the most overlooked idea.
