Network Insight Conference

Spent most of the day in Leura, in the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney, at the Network Insight Conference today. This is an annual event that is put on by Mark Armstrong and brings together leading technology and media executives in Australia to discuss: The Networked Home, Mobile Entertainment, Telco Legislative Environment, OnLine Advertising etc....... This year the presentations are really superior!

I caught most of the afternoon sessions today. Of particular note today were the presentations by David Cassidy who is in charge of Convergent Media at PBL and Mike Walsh who runs Group Strategy for News Corp for Asia Pacific - both communicating a real depth of strategic view on what is happening globally.

Later on in the Telco session it became even more evident that Australia is seriously lagging in its attitude to broadband roll out in the world market.

Perceptric Forum

According to Wikipedia a perceptron is a type of artificial neural network.

Ergo a “Perceptric” is a person who creates or uses a neural network.

The Perceptric Blog is where Chris Gilbey, together with others who provide consulting services via Perceptric Pty Limited, post thoughts, ideas, and links intended to stimulate thought and accelerate the transfer of ideas.

Perceptric Thinkers are available for consulting work with the premise that it is not technologies that are disruptive so much as the people that use them.

The Perceptric mission is to help companies and people reach their goals and exceed their expectations. This will often mean offering counter-intuitive insights into problems.

Our view? The shortest distance between two points is not necessarily a straight line. It's the number of people needed to be present in a human network to influence and deliver positive decision making.
