It was one of the first, if not the first, youth culture magazine. It provided a platform for activism. It confounded the authorities. It presented truths about Viet Nam. It exposed corruption. And it tried to put things right....

It was a huge thorn in the side of those in power - both corporately and governmentally - who did wrong.

And it supported and initiated actively some of the very best social change to take place in London and England at the time. Because every society and every organization, however well intentioned in inception, drifts into wrong thinking from time to time and needs criticism and activism to get back on course.

I see it with corporate clients who stop listening to customers and start trying to impose their will on the customer. Richard Neville sees it from his vantage point - now with a blog. His pen and his wit are still as sharp as ever. He rails against Bush. He rails against Howard....
