Here is something it was gratifying to find out: I am not unemployed and I am not a student.

According to comScore bloggers (readers and writers) have more on-line discretionary income than non-bloggers.

11% are more likely to be earning >US$75k
They are more likely to be using broadband
>50% of bloggers shop online as opposed to <40% or total Internet users
43% of blog traffic is to news/politics
17% to hipsters
3% to business blogs. ( I think we are probably in this one, Richard)

Conclusion: Bloggers are more likely to shop online.

More importantly the average blog reader views 77% more pages than the average Internet user that doesn’t read blogs. And blog readers spend 23 hours online per week, compared to overall Web average of 13 hours.

It all proves one thing that we have been saying here for a while… it is the rising tide of Consumer Created Content that is going to drive new and future media.
