In a striking move AOL will stream old TV shows (from Warner, its conglomerate affiliate company) no longer in syndication. It will use a TV model of advertising breaks. Called In2TV it will have hundreds of hours available. This is another step in the old TV business model breaking down. Another in making the internet the place to get content.

When the  next step, streaming to TV screen, or Tivo, is fixed, a worldwide niche audience will be immediately in play for little viewed, old, rare, global or narrow interest material of video content.

AOL and the rest of the TV/ content industry will be surprised by the interest this sparks.  This move also starts to unlock all the archival material available everywhere because it conditions users to go to the net to get what they want.

It further changes the equations from a take what I give you, when i want to give it to you. (TV, Cable and satellite) to a give me what I want when I want it (on demand cable, podcasts, tivo, internet)
