Research just released shows that the halo effect of iPods on Windows users in increasing. More than a million iPod users moved from Wintel machines to Macs for the first time this year.

Meanwhile an analyst at Piper-Jaffray is saying what we have been saying here at Perceptric for a while - that the real Apple story for Steve Jobs is to become the center of your media universe. Whether it is the iPod that does it as Gene Munster suggests we don't know. Our view is that the new Macs are set to replace your TV and that they will by stealth become the home server, and maybe Sony and Microsoft will have to duke it out with Apple.
