Some weeks ago Richard McKinnon posted here a story about a blogger who analyzed the copy protections software included on new BMG/Sony CD releases. It turned out that the software was extremely invasive. The story spread across the blogosphere like wildfire.

Today there is a story that they have now pulled the software out of their releases. But the reason was not the bloggers uniting and creating a public opinion wave. It was that someone (after reading the blog analysis, no doubt) had created a virus that used the installed copy protection software as its methodology of installation.

Today more and more of the key things that take place happen because of complex social and technological vector led by near instantaneous communications.
