A New Phone lines them up.

Great Gadgets get the heart racing. Yesterday evening at 6 pm, people began lining up outside the Santa Monica T Mobile office. This morning, 14 hours later, they got the chance to buy the Sidekick3 phone. The line was a block long. The T Mobile blurb

" Talk, text, IM, e-mail – it’s up to you. You can even surf the real Internet – not watered-down Web sites. Bring your music with you everywhere thanks to the built-in MP3 player – and capture the action with the 1.3 megapixel camera"

Get it? Its still a phone. But its moving out there into gadgetry land. Got tonnes of other stuff. They couldn't wait to get them fast enough. Now the new owners will want more. More things to see, do, use. The blood is moving faster in the mobile device sector.

Internet Neutrality

One of the most important topics of our time is this issue of Internet Neutrality. There is a great blog by Tom Evslin about this that everyone should read.

We absolutely can not afford to have the telcos determine the rules by which people communicate with each other. The democracy of ideas is what is at stake. If the telcos have their way they will control the flow of information entirely. That - would be a totally 1984 scenario.

Perceptric Forum

According to Wikipedia a perceptron is a type of artificial neural network.

Ergo a “Perceptric” is a person who creates or uses a neural network.

The Perceptric Blog is where Chris Gilbey posts thoughts, ideas, and links intended to stimulate thought and accelerate the transfer of ideas.

Chris is available for consulting work with the premise that it is not technologies that are disruptive so much as the people that use them.

The Perceptric mission is to help companies and people reach their goals and exceed their expectations. This will often mean offering counterintuitive conclusions.

Our view? The shortest distance between two points is not necessarily a straight line. It's the number of people needed to be present in a human network to influence and deliver positive decision making.
