Chris Gilbey, Managing Partner

Chris is a founding partner of Perceptric. He is a creative lateral thinker, who understands how to market and to sell.
He became one of the leading figures in the Australian music industry
being associated with some of the biggest names in Australian music
either as a record producer, publisher, or manager. (Think AC/DC, InXs,
The Church). He also represented a number of international music
companies in Australia. (Think of the music catalogues of Elvis
Presley, The Beatles).

While Senior EVP at BMG Records he pioneered the development of the
Enhanced CD and was the first record executive to put streaming music
on line and to create dedicated artist project web sites
(circa 1994).

He then moved into media becoming the marketing consultant for the
first Australian TV Shopping Network. In this role he created the
strategic plan to roll that service out to 43 countries.

This led to Chris sertting up a convergent media consulting
business, writing several books including "The Infinite Digital
Jukebox" which predicted the rise of digital downloads and P2P
networks. He also created one of the first visionary online radio
stations (Big Fat Radio), called by some people "The Mother Of All
Blogs".

After the tech wreck Chris was appointed CEO of an Australian DSP
company, Lake Technology Limited. He led the sale
of Lake to Dolby Laboratories, which is now listed on the New York
Stock Exchange. Chris continues to consult and spends a considerable
amount of time in Japan and the US. He has some unique insights into
the way that global markets are developing and how trend wave fronts
can be predicted and leveraged.
