Open Source Energy

I wrote a blog earlier this week, that for some reason has disappeared…
So here is a brief attempt to recapture the underlying intent:
Essentially there is a research project that has originated in New Zealand to look at an open source and networked approach to solar energy generation and billing. That has turned into a business that is called Solar Network.
Their intent is to work with a community based model for solar energy generation where the community is widely distributed. That means that people within a group can share or take up energy credits on their power bill so as to reduce their energy costs. I am always interested to see new business models develop and hope that this one will get up.
Watch out for it.
