Over the last six months, I have seen more
countries agree to put up barriers against free speech, censorship, and
political freedom than since the 50's.

I refuse to believe that this is not an
internationally organised, Government-to-Government co-ordinated action.

I am concerned that when the public do realise that
their legislators have sold them out – it may be too late to respond.

President Obama's Latest “Appointee” is an
interesting addition to the list of “Let’s control the
Internet – before we loose power.”

That President Obama has appointed a new type of Czar.
 

Dr. Cass Sunstein, a Law Professor from that esteemed
institution Harvard, has been put in charge of oversight for the environment, Occupational
Safety and Health and apparently, according to the article, quoting Obama’s
advisors, Sunstein is integral to overhauling the financial problems in the USA
and;

(Here is the biggie) making sure that rumours cannot be
spread on the internet any more.

Wow. For one man to be responsible for so much – we can
only refer to him as God 2.

The question remains, will he make beneficial changes
or will he mastermind a methodology to prevent peer-to-peer honest interaction
and community communication.

The bible refers to Armageddon being the result of a
single man. The Anti-Christ.

I am not all that beholding to the prophecies of Revelations,
not for that fact Nostradamus or any other Doomsayer. However, if Dr Sunstein
is the instigator of additional privacy and copyright restrictions emanating
originally from the Whitehouse and spreading throughout the rest of the Western
world, then we may in the future think of him in biblical terms.

Especially if the furtherance of his stated objective “To
restrict rumours from spreading on the Internet” turns society into an Orwellian
truism.

Let us hope that Sunstein is a democratically (not the
party) friendly beneficial appointee and not one designed to further censure
and remove the hard one freedoms that Democracy has delivered over the last
four hundred years, because of the people and for the people.
