John Howard added fuel to the fire here today by restating in Parliament his antipathy toward the Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

Amazing that he should do this only days after last week 'mishearing' a question in Parliament about Global Warming…

I think he must be rattled. Is he being moved visibly further to the right?

He is certainly getting a lot of media attention round the world. From the BBC to CNN across all the major global news networks. This is one of those things that Prime Ministers are not supposed to do, isn't it.

Obama responded to it wonderfully though. He said  “Howard should call up another 20,000 Australian and send them to Iraq, otherwise it is just empty rhetoric”.

And Rudd looked very mature and calm in the debate in Parliament today….
