How much influence will the users of YouTube (and other video hosting sites) have on the coming Australian election?

In Canada it is election time too… See this story on what the media are saying there about video activism.

This is something that I am particularly interested in, and expect to be a key part of the acceleration of video online as a mass phenomenon. Thinking back to the early days of print media and the printing press… after bibles what came next?

Politics certainly stirs people's passions. And it is that passion to engender change that is causing people to improve their networks, exert greater influence and spread the word, whatever that may be. Perhaps it is a new kind of evangelism. But that evangelism is, I believe, going to see a momentum growing to support progressive people-powered ideas.
