Star Trek has always attracted the most fanatical followers. Trekkies operate in a different universe. Now many have decided to create their own Star Trek. Using cheap handheld cameras and writing their own scripts, “new” episodes of the classic television show are being generated and posted to the web. 30 million downloads later from one site its clear that traditional television and its overlords are missing something.
