Two security issues across the net touched virtually everyone today. It reminded us that technology is not perfect. Yahoo's free email contained a worm. Microsoft were forced to patch 8 holes, many in Internet Explorer, others in internet remote and routing access. In many ways the rise of the super-efficient big companies has created a mono culture. Its bigness, the easy uniformity that we all like because it works, that allows flaws, problems and issues to be transmitted worldwide within seconds.  Today was another warning that there are problems with bigness and easiness.
