Broadband. An absolute must

Broadband is now the most important signpost to future economic growth amongst developed countries.Unless there is a connected society, and workforce, with powerful and swift broadband, economic growth is about to come to a quick end in slow communication.

Broadband is the great enabler that reduces distance, time and physical barriers. I finish a videoconference in Australia. I watch English TV. I bank in Europe. I receive video design from India. I upload quickly. etc etc etc.

The problem is that what you can't see, you don't understand. We don't know where the world will go with broadband enabled. What services arise. What ideas take hold. Broadband is the pick and shovel. The freeway of the next big step.

Australia is a classic example. Developed but being throttled by the lack of genuine broadband. Politicians are totally unaware of how critical it is to get broadband in place now. Right now. They dabble. Mouth the right things. Meanwhile the innovators in the garage, the farmers on the land can't make the exciting new revolution happen. Sad.
