Porn on cellphones

Porn seems to have driven every new communication innovation back to the Guttenberg press. Printing, books, paperbacks, nickelodeons , PPV, movies on demand, subscription websites, premium content, online photo galleries, video clips, streaming media, you name it, the porn guys do it.  Often first and often best.

Porn is not considered widely acceptable, although it is clearly widely accepted by many people, so those consumers are used to paying for content. If only to keep their interest secret.

Porn businesses tap into a psychology of paying per view. They work out way to offer content that mixes free and pay premium elements. They get people to put serious money on the table. They make pay per view acceptable. A person buying content here (porn) buys there (family)

Now, Porn is targeting cell phones and handheld device as a new delivery frontier. That’s significant for cellphone content.  It means quick mastery of the technology/content/pricing/revenue streams by tough business guys. People who have a relentless drive to remove technological and social issues. People who can market. People who expect a  1 billion dollar insudtry within two or three and much much more.

Sprint launched its cellphone service yesterday. Expect marketing, from all quarters to now drive quick TV to cellphone offerings and adoption.
