Stanford Australia Association Inaugural Meeting
The first meeting of the Stanford Australia Association took place earlier this evening. It was put together by Mike Zimmerman and Tony Surtees and as you would expect the focus was on entrepreneurship.
Speakers on the panel were Craig Mudge, Bill Ferris and Nevill Roach and some of the discussion revolved around the differences between Australia and the US for developing new businesses and there was some interesting discussion on the underlying momentum of the Life Sciences sector in Australia. Zack Herlick, a co-founder of Red Herring, moderated the meeting.
This may mark a significant turning point for Australian start ups – certainly it holds a lot more promise than the Boot Camp idea of the ANZATech conference… more intelligence, better focused, with more experience of how to get there….. Should be interesting to watch.
