New Info From Roach and New Podcast
America's top economist without question is Stephen Roach. In his latest article he analyses Alan
Greenspan's latest remarks and underscores how totally fragile the US
economy is. And when America sneezes the rest of the world catches a
cold.
This is important stuff for everyone of us. We are in the early stages
of oil shock and the last one brought on a major global recession. The
US has a stunning current account defecit. There is a housing bubble in
the US that is now acknowledged by Greenspan (as Roach recounts). And
the US has to find money to pay for insurance claims in the Billions
from hurricanes and bush fires, and the misadventures in the middle
east.
Over the next few years how will this flow through into the global economy and into big and small business?
We are going to be thinking about this at Perceptric over the next months and offering some views on the subject.
Fundamentally, we continue to believe that counterintuitive solutions
are going to be the touchstone of companies that succed in the
increasingly competitive environment. There is more capital available
than ever before in spite of the economic gloom that will touch us all
over the next year as a result of increased oil prices flowing on into
the consumer market and causing strong inflationary pressure. That
capital is going to be seeking visionary ideas to invest in that will
resonate with a global community that is more connected than ever
before.
As a result of this we will be initiating soon a Perceptric podcast – The Whether Report. Look for it here soon…
