Bird Flus' spread and Indonesia

Indonesia is ground zero for the spread and propagation of Bird Flu. Today's Sydney Morning Herald explains why. In essence, the mutation of Bird Flu into a wide spread killer needs the virus to mutate after passing from birds to humans. Indonesia's the right place for that to happen.

Despite the known problem, the strategy to stop or fix the problem is nonexistent. There is no widespread fight against the spread of flu, the Government is still basically in denial, precautions are unheard of, hospitals are inadequate, humans and animals/birds mix closely and the concept of “face” as well as Indonesia's general personal and social culture, stands against the needs of modern disease management.
