Accoridng to the SF Chronicle Korean
online newspaper Ohmy News has enlisted the services of citizen
reporters. They report on breaking news about protests to sophisticated
political analysis AND readers even provide financial
“tips” to the citizen journalists whose stories they like. Kim Young Ok
received 30 Million Won after he criticized the court of South Korea.
The newspaper gets betwen 1.7 and 25 Million page views a day depending
on the mood of the population and the level of political heat at the
time.
