How the world works today

Tuesday evening on the US West Coast,  Perceptric ran a first post about mashing. (the art of tieing together different bits of music, words, sounds, maybe video, into one unique package) from Chris Gilbey in San Francisco.  A few hours afterwards, in Los Angeles, I posted more, bookmarking WaxAudio's site, and their song as examples of a new concept.

Within hours, Wednesday afternoon UK time, the London Observer, part of The Guardian newspaper group, had picked up the posts and posted themselves, linking to Perceptric, and saying “We are also partial to a bit of irony-laden political protest music. So imagine our glee when we discovered the marriage of both genres. Modern technology brings you: George Bush sings Imagine”

An idea moves from static in Sydney, through San Francisco and Los Angeles to London, and back, within hours. At every step, the idea is picked up, considered, acted apon, reacted to.  Now, in LA, Thursday morning  Perceptric is dealing with the large volume of hits and inquiries to our site as a result of the Observer post.

Clearly communication and information now has a dynamic life that creates powerful leverage and momentum,( including globally) within moments. No one should ignore the power of this newly liberated connectedness, It is driving large sections of the  tertiary economy today and is only set to grow at a faster rate..
